Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg popped down to Penny Lane today to help out with a community clear up.

It comes after the announcement of a £738,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund to refurbish and extend the two storey disused building on Penny Lane.

He was following in the footsteps of Paddy Ashdown who visited the site back in 1998 to support the hand-over to the Penny Lane Trust which guaranteed that the Grove Mount playing fields, around the proposed community centre building, would stay in public use.

He was of course also giving a helping hand to Colin Eldridge's campaign to be elected to parliament to represent Wavertree.

Given the amount of cabinet cases he removed from the building, could Mr Clegg also be planning a reshuffle of his own?

Is Clegg-over counting up the names of all of his ex-birds in that photo?

A great Community Project and a lot of hard work over the last fifteen years. Well Done PLDT.
I wonder if Sir Paul McCartney will have any input into promoting the project, will he support and remember the community he once lived in.
