Dale Street Blues first ever survey turned into a bit of a disaster (due to a few technicalities), so many people were unable to vote.

That said here are the results of whether readers thought Jane Kennedy made the right decision to resign:

Was Liverpool Wavertree MP Jane Kennedy right to stand down from Gordon Brown's Government?

Yes 69%
No 31%

Are you a member of a political party?

Yes 60%
No 40%

If yes, which party do you belong to?

Labour 66%
Liberal Democrat 24%
Conservative 5%
Other 5%

Here is selection of comments people left:

If you cannot agree to support your leader unswervingly, then the only decent course of action is to stand down. What is wrong is to take the job, take the salary and then brief against the leader anyway.

Rather than percentages, can you say how many people voted?

Hi Ian,

Unfortunately only 35 people were able to take the survey in the end.

Not sure how far any of this straw polling takes us. Just like the numbers of letters sent in, all we learn is that a handful of people care enough to make their views known. And by their actions, they will be hugely unrepresentative of all those who, for whatever reason, didn't write in or vote in this blog
