VERDICT: Liverpool Labour's new website

HERE is the link to Labour's new website in Liverpool.
My first impression is that it is a really nice looking website and the party has clearly spent time and money getting it put together.
There are a few improvements that could be made though.
Nice though the picture of the Pier Head is, a few links could be added into the picture of make it interactive and not just wasted space.
While I am on the subject of links, there is an article about Jane Kennedy's resignation that says her letter can be found on the ECHO's website, but there is no link to it.
Either the letter should have been included or an embedded link.
It will be interesting to see how 'Speakers Corner' evolves, one wonders how much the party will tolerate opposing views to be aired in the section.
Fix My Road is also another good feature, but Labour will need to make sure they check it regularly. People will expect a fairly speedy response.
But overall I think it is a good effort.

Professional, well-designed and pretty tidy. Be good to see Labour run Liverpool in the same manner for a change. But I don't expect to see too much excitement on this website. Any controversy or serious debate simply gives ammunition to Labour's opponents. And anyway, someone has to decide what content to include - and what to exclude. That creates problems in itself. So get set for bland, and sometimes toe-curling, tributes to Joe & the Comrades. A good start, but it would be nice to see some two-way interaction between the Party, its members, and citizens generally. Of course, that requires keeping control of the trolls, racists, wreckers and barking 'green-inkers'. Not easy
well, its great is it - but it won't be? Has ronnie gone into the crystal-ball gazing business? Too much cynicism in politics! Why not give it a few months before rushing to snap judgements?
I think it looks pretty good, very neat and tidy. I saw that the Labour Party will be experimenting with YouTube - that'll be interesting if they can make it work. But overall I like this website. What a refreshing change from the usual boring, amateur websites we're so used to from political parties!
Sorry but I was stifling a yawn as I went through it. I know we should give it a chance but you would expect the launch to have shown us something better. On some pages it is reams of text which is a definite web "no no".
And as for claiming all these "firsts", Anderson seems to have ignored the fact that the Liverpool Greens have had videos for ages, and the "Fix My Road" item is hardly revolutionary. Its just a form to fill in! The web is full of forms - why, I'm even filling in one as I type!! Why would I fil that one in and not the Council's one?
It is a good looking yes but it's not going to change Liverpool politics is it?
