Southampton wins 'cruise war' with Liverpool
Southampton has won in the so-called 'cruise war' with Liverpool over whether the Pier Head should be allowed to become a start and finish base for liners.
Transport ministers ruled today that the bid to allow it to have a turnaround facility would breach EU competition law after the £20m terminal had £9m from Europe.
Liverpool council is today insisting this is "not the final" word on developing the city's cruise business, watch this space.
