Peter Kilfoyle hits back at Joe Anderson in Luciana Berger row
The fallout over the selection of Luciana Berger continues to cause waves in the Liverpool Labour party.
Last week Liverpool Labour leader Joe Anderson leapt to the defence of Miss Berger after Walton MP Peter Kilfoyle branded her an inexperienced student politician.
Cllr Anderson hit back and said: "There are many people that would argue that some of our Liverpool MPs are past their sell by dates including Peter.
"But I would not support that view because I think agism, whatever end of the spectrum [is wrong], people should be judged by their character and ability."
But Kilfoyle has had the last word. He said: "I'm glad that Joe is defending me - just like I defend him against those people who say he is incompetent."
Ouch.

Jesus, when is Kilfoyle going to grow up? Talking about bringing politics into disrepute, this is the politics of the classroom when we are in the middle of the worst recession in a generation.
Utterly ridiculous posturing Peter - you do the Party no good, nor yourself.
Pack it in.
Joe Anderson has got Labour in Liverpool to its strongest position for about 20 years, when it is on verge of taking control of the council. And this while Labour is in power nationally too.
Other Labour leaders would give their right arm for a bit of Joe's 'incompetence'.
Now shut up and get on with representing Walton, Killer.
For once both Joe and Peter are right about something.

I accept Kilfoyle is notionally a "labour MP" but given his terrible record and reputation as a constituency MP he really does have a cheek calling anyone incompetent
Perhaps he could comission some research to prove otherwise? and then be given a ridicilious amount of the daily post to bang on about it about it.
I dont know Joe Anderson but I do know how many Cllrs labour had when he took over compared to how many they have now. That alone shows what a sterling job he had done.
