UPDATE 2: No decision yet on whether Ricky Tomlinson will be standing for Liverpool Wavertree
So the Socialist Labour Party have met tonight, and have made no decision on whether Ricky Tomlison will be its candidate in Liverpool Wavertree.
I'm not sure what exactly is going on here. I've not been covering the event so I can't really bring you much more, except to say that we still don't know whether Tomlinson will be standing.

So we won't be holding our breath, will we, for stories that 'won't go away' about selection transparency in parties other than Labour. Truth is, the clowns of the SLP don't have a selection process. The LibDems don't have a selection process. The Tories don't even pretend to have one. The ONLY Party that has a transparent, democratically-coherent membership-based process is the Labour Party. Luciana Berger was overwhelmingly endorsed by that process, and will win Wavertree easily. Ask Colin Eldridge. Ask Ricky Tomlinson. Above all, ask Peter Kilfoyle.

Ronnie, could you explain why you say the Lib Dems don't have a transparent selection process?
Your rants and madness is always welcome as it brings much laughter in the office here.
Joker.
Hey, another story about Mr Tomlinson. How many column inches have we spent on this man now? He has not even been selected by this no-hope party yet, never mind found 10 people to sign a nomination form and collected the ã500 deposit. Once they know he was in the NF for four years (or so it says in his autobiography I understand, I have not read it myself), he might find it hard to get anyone to vote for him at all. And I would include the SLP in that. I trust the people of Liverpool do not all have stars in their eyes and can see past someone's celebrity status as an actor to the real person that would be sitting on select committees on their behalf in the Houses of Parliament.
