Arise Lord Eddie Clein, Lord Richard Kemp, and Baroness Clucas.

Well, not quite.

Rumours are rife that the three may be in line to be made Lords as the Liberal Democrats and Conservatives seek to rebalance the upper house.

Both Cllr Clein and Cllr Kemp have poured cold water on the idea though.

"I have not heard about that," said Cllr Clein.

"I would very much welcome the opportunity. It would be a huge conclusion to my political career after serving on the city council for 43 years."

When asked about it Cllr Kemp said: "Not to my best knowledge".

So they are not ordering the Ermine just yet.

Would love to hear your suggestions for their names should they be given peerages.

Clein - Lord E Da? Baron Ideas? Lord I knew the Beatles of Childwall?
(Assuming he settles for something less than "King")

Clucas - Lord of the Flies off to Europe whenever possible.
Lady Hady Crady Days of Summer
Baroness Betrayal of BSF?

Kemp - Baron Land of the Boot Estate

Cllr Clein in particular has the necessary airs and graces to take on a role in the Lords, and appears as modest and humble as ever judging by the quote above!

You are good at winding us up- if the Lib.Dems are looking at putting those people in the the Upper House it really says it all about their view of quality ....

Mind you- all three are are Tories- and Cllr Clein even WAS a member of the Tory Party and was a Tory Councillor in Liverpool, so on second thoughts its probably an indication of the true natuire of the Lib Dem party in Liverpool...TORY by another name- and these people would be totally acceptable to Cameron and the Coalition...just watch the Lib Dem party disappear down the plughole faster than you can say Warren Bradley!
