Joe Anderson email reveals Labour to target Woolton

Liverpool council leader Joe Anderson says the party are now targeting the Liberal Democrat stronghold of Woolton given the party's double success in the Croxteth by-election last week.

In an email to councillors he sarcastically thanks Lib-Dem leader Warren Bradley and Paul Twigger (Robin to Cllr Bradley's Batman) for their help in Croxteth.

Subject: Victory in Croxteth

Dear All
Sorry for the delay in contacting you I have been so busy, even being full time is not enough these days, there is so much to do and so little time. I just wanted to take a little time out though to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed to a well deserved victory in Croxteth last Thursday. I won't go on about what this result means for elsewhere in the City but Woolton has now become a target.

I would like to thank on behalf of the Labour Group Cllr Bradley and Cllr Twigger for their excellent contribution in Croxteth and for their continuing support, God bless you both.

Best wishes

Joe

No odds offered on Cllr Twigger as you need to be a Cllr to stand for leader.
