Green Party spring conference in Liverpool

The Green party will become the latest party return to Liverpool to hold its party conference in the city.

The party starts its four-day spring conference at the Adelphi on Friday. Its not quite the same as the Labour or Liberal Democrat party conference at the ECHO Arena. But still its nice to see the party choosing Liverpool.

Green Party leader Caroline Lucas will headline on the first day, followed by MEPs Keith Taylor and Jean Lambert.

Liverpool of course has two Green councillors Sarah Jennings and John Coyne, who will also be present. Cllr Coyne will be speaking on the Green prospectus for core cities.

UPDATE: The party held its autumn conference in the city in 2007.

UPDATE 2: The party will announce its mayoral candidate for Liverpool on Friday at the conference.

I wonder who will be mayor said:

I wonder if there will be a problem when the Adelphi tries to renew its license in the same way as the Cricketers in Wavertree.
Well, the earlier rival party ( the not very nice BNP ) did not even mention a rival for mayor to upset Joe so this could be worse.
Could possibly be a Compulsory Purchase Order coming in here for the building to be razed to the ground.
Must admit I did not know we had any Green Councillors though. They are far too quiet.
