Security breach on Lancashire Police Commissioner Clive Grunshaw's Twitter account?... well sort of

justin_beiber.jpgThere can only really be on of three explanations when a politician tweets a picture of Justin Beiber and says how cute the popstar is.

Either the politician is a fan (unlikely they'd admit to it), they have been hacked in some way, or it was tweeted by mistake.

Just before 9.30pm on Friday the twitter account of Lancashire's Police Commissioner tweeted out the pic above.

It was hastily removed (not before Dale Street Associates got a screen grab), and then put down to "Twitter spam" by @LancsPCC, avoiding the excuse we often hear that "my account was hacked".

The tweet was not the work of anyone with access to the account @LancsPCC later tweeted, and "appropriate changes" have now been made.

Amusing as it may be, it amounts to a small scale security breach and is embarrassing nonetheless. Not least for a Crime Commissioner who has had a bit of a rocky start...
