2012, the disaster movie of the year?
There may just be a glimmer of hope for a decent disaster movie this year. (Warning, contains spoilers!!!)
The year's best offering so far was Knowing with Nicolas Cage. It started off ok, the scenes of destruction and cities being wiped out making you squirm uncomfortably in your seat - just how was mankind going to survive?
But then what's this - aliens! For ****'s sake (hits back of cinema seat angrily)
I left the Vue with Mr M and my brother-in-law (henceforth to be known as Mr L for ease of writing) feeling downright cheated. A promising movie, with a lazy man's ending.
But then yesterday Mr M sat me down and showed me the latest trailer for Roland Emmerich's new movie 2012 - and I re-found my faith in humanity.

Mr Emmerich has already proved he can blow things up with style, Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow and Godzilla to name but a few.
And the trailer for 2012 shows a glorious array of destruction, with landmarks around the world being smashed, land masses sliding into the sea and the White House being destroyed by JFK (I kid you not!)
Throw into the mix John Cusack, Thandie Newton and Danny Glover as President and what could go wrong?????
It hits cinemas November 13th, catch the trailer below.

I don't think we'll have to wait until 2012 to see the disaster movie of they year - surely Terminator Salvation has that one in the bag? ;)
