Alternative take on The Time Traveller's Wife

By Cheryl Mullin on Aug 6, 09 03:18 PM

Fans of The Time Traveller's Wife could have been watching a very different movie if the film's screenwriter had had anything to do with it.
Bruce Joel Rubin has revealed that he had Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt in mind when he was penning the movie's script.

He said: "I was writing it in my mind for them. I thought they would be perfect for this film. I just saw them as a perfect version of Henry and Clare.
"I just found them equally attractive and equally compelling and in terms of the Hollywood arena at that time, they were as good a couple as you could find."
Meanwhile the actual star of the film, Eric Bana, has revealed he was surprised that he was asked to do so many nude scenes.Eric Bana.jpg
The Australian actor who landed the role of librarian Henry DeTamble said: "I read all of those scenes and I read the book and I'm like 'yeah, he's butt naked quite a bit but it is PG13 so I'll never have to take my clothes off' - well, I was wrong; every third or fourth day it was 'Eric, drop your pants'."
The Time Traveller's Wife, based on the hit novel by Audrey Niffenegger and also starring Rachel McAdams is out in August 14th.
