Stormtroopers invade Formby Beach
Stormtroopers have invaded Formby beach.
But fear not, the Empire is not staging a hostile take over, it was all in the name of fun.
Amateur movie maker and 99th Garrison. member Gareth Carr, shot the Star Wars homage and post it on YouTube.
The Secret In The Sand, took just two days to film and three months in post production to finish.
Having spent most of his formative years playing Star Wars in the sand dunes, the 28-year-old didn't have to look too far when deciding where to film his mini masterpiece.
He said: "As a kid I just always used to play there and we often played Star Wars on the sand dunes.
"I've just always been a fan of the Star Wars fan films on the internet and when I joined the group last year I asked if anyone wanted to make a film. It's been great. Everyone seems to love it."
The 99th Garrison has around 70 members from the North and Midlands, who dress as Star Wars villains and help to raise money for The Christie, a cancer research center in Manchester.
Gareth, a building surveyor from Haskayne, said: "We do the Dark Side.
"The costumes have been bought by members themselves and some have made their own.
"It's just friends who own Stormtrooper suits who wanted to go out and wear it. We're a hobby group and we raise money for charity.
"It's always the adults more than the children who always want their photos taken."
