Review: God of War: Ghost of Sparta

I HAVE been in love with this series since the first God of War appeared on the PS2 back in 2005.
With each game that followed I've avidly joined Kratos on his epic journeys, fighting gods and monsters, reaching dizzying heights and plunging to the very depths of Hades itself.

So when I completed GOW III, I was delighted to hear rumours that a new game was in the pipeline.
That rumour became Ghost of Sparta.
Set between the saga's first two games, it offers a harrowing new adventure for Kratos as he sets out in search of his long lost brother.

Torn apart as children, the Spartan is eager to discover his sibling's fate.
During the course of the game we learn more of Kratos' back story, painful memories which shaped the man come to the surface.
With stunning graphics, a compelling storyline and enough fight action to make your thumbs bleed it is, without doubt, one of the best games I've played on any handheld device.
It quite literally pushes the PSP to its limit - and beyond.
The game play is fluid and highly polished, and the ending will just blow your mind.
It took me about ten hours to complete, so it also feels like you get more for your money than the last PSP title, Chains of Olympus.
I know I might be biased, but I can't encourage you enough to drop what you're doing and run out now to buy this game.
It is a solid PSP title and a more then worthy addition to the GOW series.

RATING: 9/10 - God of Awe
