As another week passes in the Girls Behaving Stylishly world, this is what we're loving and loathing this week.

Liverpool One. If ever you needed an excuse to go shopping then this is it. It is your civic duty.

I'm not keen on my summer mac anymore, it suddenly seems less Carla Bruni in the springtime, and more low rent flasher. I realise some won't consider the two mutually exclusive.
But I should have worn it today for two reasons.

TWO treats yesterday, which seem to sum up two halves of Liverpool's Capital of Culture offering - first, a tour of the new Debenhams store and then a preview of the Klimt exhibition at the Tate.

Aside from being highlights of 2008, the Liverpool One development (where Debenhams is an anchor store) and the showcase of paintings have two things in common...

The pint-sized pop princess reaches 40 today and the Girls Behaving Stylishly team would like to wish her many happy returns of the day.
We have followed Kylie since the days of Scott and Charlene in Neighbours, through the Stock, Aitken and Waterman period and onto her days when she tried to get some indie-cred and realised we loved her as she was, and we hoped for the best when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

MONSTER shades, giant bags and indicators, all flung on to the scrap heap of whimsical fashion fads past.
Yes, this week it came to my attention that indicating, that quaint little system we once adopted to tell other drivers which way we were turning, has sadly passed out of mode.
I noticed this on the M6 last week on the way to the Lake District.

In an era when it seems every band that ever exisited is cashing in and making a comeback, those Irish pop puppets Boyzone have posed in the nude for a celebrity magazine as they desperately try to keep their grip on fame.
Apparently when they decided to put their differences behind them and reform, their management decided their thirtysomething paunches were not the look they were aiming and got them into a strict training and diet regime.

THE realisation that I am attempting to emulate Bree from Desperate Housewives comes as I am standing at the front of the house watering the tomato plants in my outfit for the Chester Races.

Heels are not appropriate attire for gardening, I think, as I wave to a girl walking past in her rollers, who is obviously taking the getting-ready process far more seriously than I am.

YOU could never accuse a girl behaving stylishly of sitting on the fence. Here are the things we're loving and hating this week...
