Fare Weather Friends
I'm not keen on my summer mac anymore, it suddenly seems less Carla Bruni in the springtime, and more low rent flasher. I realise some won't consider the two mutually exclusive.
But I should have worn it today for two reasons.
One, it pee-ed down.
Two, my travel pass was in the pocket. As luck would have it Merseyrail's paramilitary wing were out in force at the barriers, ready to whip out their penalty fare books and read out the riot act. Fine, fair (fare) cop, I was travelling, albeit inadvertantly without a ticket. But in the spirit of fareness (ahem) what about the times I've rolled my eyes and ruefully accepted (and carried on paying full price during) the times when weather stops play for them?
On the plus side those thrillingly brief glimpses of the Big Brother eye have started appearing during the adverts on Channel 4. Now SATC has been and gone (fabulous fabulous fabulous) we need something to look forward to.
