A case of intelligent design
HAD a great time judging the furniture category at the Design Show Liverpool awards last night.
After a tour of the stands, I and my fellow judge Dick Maudsley from Utility, on Bold Street, unanimously settled on Lazerian.
We were won over by the firm's dining table - a circular piece of glass balanced on a base made of tessellated pieces of plywood bolted together. I don't have a photo of it but you can get the idea from the image of one of their lampshades above.
The fashion award went to Paul Robinson, whose designs - by happy coincidence - I used in a fashion shoot yesterday morning. They are really beautiful - outlandish yet based on strong tailoring.
We shot at Dr Duncan's pub in St Johns Lane, the model was Megan Parkinson from Boss and make-up was by Lottie Davis of MAC. You can see the rest of the images in next week's Style City or online at www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/stylecity from Thursday.
