Beauty emergencies

DO YOU have a first aid kit in your office?
We probably have an official one knocking around somewhere packed with band aids, nail scissors, surgical spirit and the odd cotton wool ball but the one we just could not live without is the one resting in my desk drawer.

And it is the sort of first aid kit that every girl behaving stylishly needs for any beauty emergency,
So what is in it you may wonder. Let me fill you in:

1. Deodorant. Not that we are stinky or anything.

2. Moisturiser. Every office needs a bottle, air conditioning and screwing your eyes up to stare at a computer screen all day is v. bad news for moisture levels (and crow's feet)

3. Sunscreen. Okay, the sun rarely comes out in this country but when you are stuck on an outdoors job for hours on end, SPF-free and wearing a spaghetti strap top - is precisely the moment it will turn tropical (ask Laura Davis).

4. Clear lipgloss. Because lipgloss can transform your day.

5. Plasters. The one thing our first aid kit has in common with the traditional one - used largely for heel and toe blisters due to ill-fitting shoes.

6. Nail files. Because a broken fingernail can really ruin a girls' day.

7. Dry shampoo. The ultimate lifesaver we cannot recommend this stuff highly enough. This little can of talc-y powder can mean the difference between catching the GMTV newshour and lying in until Lorraine Kelly pops up. It also prevents you turning up to after work bashes looking like you have spent the day cleaning deep fat fryers.
