Repeats and reality TV

By Alpa on Jun 3, 08 08:09 AM

We are now entering the twlight zone. Also known as that time of year when the TV schedules become filled with repeats of programmes we never bothered to watch the first time round, endless reality shows (is anybody going to be watching Big Brother this year?) and a bonanza of sport.

I've never fully understood why, in recent years, our schedulers have followed our American cousins by running seasons from September to June, especially when our summers more often than not resemble a wet weekend in Scarborough rather than the fabulous sunshine they get in Malibu.
So as the latest series of Lost drew to its explosive finale on Sunday night, I was grateful the producers gave me something to keep us going during those wet summer months. The sight of Sawyer coming out of the water gave female viewers their very own version of the legendary Ursula Andress moment in Dr No.
Now, roll on September
