Subtle or ruffle - which is Alex Curran's best look?

By Laura Davis on Jul 26, 08 08:00 AM

Alex.jpgIF HAIRSPRAY sales plummeted faster than an overweight lemming earlier this week then we have the reason why.

Alex Curran, whose trademark quiff is surely held up by six cans per day, decided to go for a sleek look when accompanying hubby Stevie G to collect his honorary degree at JMU this week.

In fact her entire appearance was so subtle - the permatan reduced to a healthy glow and not a ruffle in sight - that the Girls Behaving Stylishly felt compelled to share their verdicts...

Emma Pinch: Damn. I hate it when celebs discover the instant smoothing and Parisian chic-bestowing powers of Roland Mouret. Does this mean an end to the endless ruffles, cuffs, bouffant hair and tangerine tan for which we know and love Alex Curran-Gerrard? A sad day for Wag-watchers and the Scouserati.

Alpa: For once, Alex has gone for subtlety and it really suits her. The tan's played down, the hair's not too 'done' and the make-up looks natural.

Emma Johnson: Can this really be our Alex looking so demure and sophisticated? She is the picture of elegance with her sleek hair, tanned - but not Ronsealed limbs - and ladylike shoes. Love it. And wouldn't mind your shoes myself...

Laura: I'm feeling a bit obsessed with yellow at the moment so I love lemon colour of her dress. Her appearance is very sophisticated but I can't help thinking Liverpool will be a duller place if Alex gives up her peacock look altogether.
