And the survey says...

weddinggift.jpgREMEMBER a couple of weeks ago when we asked you to help with our friend's dilemma?

He had left it a bit later to choose a gift off his friend's wedding list and the only things left were a sterling silver salt and pepper mill for £204 each, a £19 salad spinner and a set of spoons for £15 apiece.

Well here are the results of the survey...

Pay out £408 for the salt and pepper set - it's your own fault for being late and you should suffer the consequences: 9%

Include some gift vouchers in the wedding card: 58%

Go along empty-handed. With a list like that they're lucky if you turn up at all: 6%

Accept defeat and buy the £19 salad spinner: 26%

But best of all were some of the comments you left us:

Asroc, from the UK: Wait a few months and see if they make a go of it before splashing out? And here's me thinking I was king of the cynics!

Dauguy, from the US: Thought you had three months after the wedding to send the gift? It was a year when I was younger, now it's three months. Since a gift was an extra, not a requirement, I guess it was to give you time to save and plan for it.

Phx Mike, from the US: Sounds like my dilemma at every gift giving occasion! I usually barely have time to purchase a card and the gift card on my way to the event.
