Coming around again

I seem to recall that there is a saying that in the world of fashion one should never go where you have gone before. Therefore if you were a Mary Quant devotee circa 1964, when bum skimming skirts come back around you should steer well clear. Likewise anyone who spent the seventies swanning around in bell bottoms would be wise to give wide-legged trousers a wide berth this time around.

So why did I just spend a week in Ibiza hiding behind a pair of Rayban Wayfarers thinking I was Kate Moss? After all, are these not the exact sunglasses which I spent my childhood lusting after thanks to Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson.
My get out of fashion jail free card on this matter is the fact that when I first wanted them at the age of 11 the best I could hope for was a snidey pair - this time around it's the real thing all the way.
