Braniac engineering students in America have come up with the perfect solution - stilettos with hollow heel storage facilities!
Strikes me there are two important things to remember (write them on your arm if it's a big night out) if they hit the shops here - and the styles are remarkably nice.
1) make sure you have equal ballast in each shoe. Dragging one clunky foot along behind you in the style of Quasimodo's girlfriend is so not this season.
2) Don't forget to have your shoes with you, especially when you're going home, even if your feet feel like they've done 12 marathons one after the other, on eight inch nails. And by the time you've stood for six hours in the pub, decided that lack of dance floor in said pub should be no hindrance to showing the world what a red hot thrower of shapes you are, then found a pizza place that is still open and trailed round 18 taxi ranks, they usually do.
It is of course quite possible to lose your shoes on the way out to an event, as the pair of size 3s in the nettles next to Waterloo station attest - you know who you are Miss K.
If the design idea doesn't come to fruition, or shoe loss is a real possibility, you could always borrow storage tips from one of our 'avin it large' heroines. Just Velcro your survival pouch to your head and cover the item in a messy beehive. All ready to go.
