Maybe baby
MAYBE there's something in the air. Or the water. Because it seems that most people I know have either recently had a baby, announced they are pregnant or about to give birth.
Now I know someone of my age should expect their friends to be adding to their lives with little bundles of joy but it seems to have had a very strange effect on me.
Amongst all the bumpf we get sent from various press offices was the latest Mothercare catalogue. As a fully paid-up member of PANK (Professional Aunt, No Kids), the arrival of the latest kids collection barely registers on my radar but something was making me turn the pages and peer closely at the cute kids in their new clothes.
Maybe it had something to do with a recent lunchtime shopping trip...
I found a gorgeous tea dress on the sale racks that was even better when I realised it was half price. Delighted with my new purchase, I proudly showed it off to the girls in the office - until one of them pointed out to me that I'd probably been so excited by the price I had failed to see the label also said the dress was maternity!
Don't worry Mum if you're reading this, I'm not about to make you a grandmother, but the dress does look fab with a tight belt!
