A Bold move for the weekend
JUST because the second phase of Liverpool One's opening this week doesn't mean we should forget about the city's independent shops.
Here at GBS we love both and, after checking out the new offering (Wagamama - yey!), we'll be heading over to Bold Street for its festival weekend.
On Saturday, there will be Brazilian Samba dancing, live music, lots of free food and wine tastings, live DJs, goody bags, competitions and raffles, discounts in a wide range of stores and a big charity fundraising event in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness.
There's also plenty for kids with magicians, face-painting, storytelling and a Design-a-Rubber Duck competition.
And of course it's a great opportunity to pop over to St Luke's Church and see Yoko Ono's Ladders installation or the "Atelier Bow Wow" rockscape on the corner of Renshaw Street/Hardman Street which are key parts of Liverpool Biennial 08.
