What would you prescribe for 'mullet denial'?

AS THE great fringe debate begins once again (thanks to Naomi Campbell for revitalising the old 'will I, won't I' discussion in Style City Towers), spare a moment's thought for Julea Penland.

For five years the beautician has offered free haircuts to anyone in Kitsap County, Washington State, who is willing to lose their mullet - so far not a single person has taken up her offer.

"People with mullets either love them and want to keep them, or they don't know they have them," she says. "They're in mullet denial."
