IT'S probably not a match Don King ever imagined staging but it sounds like Elton John vs Lily Allen at the GQ awards was quite the title fight.
By all accounts a rather inebriated Lily, hardly known for beong shy and retiring, launched a verbal asault on England's other Queen as the pair compered the ceremony.

Reports have it that Ms Allen (who appeared to have run up her dress from an old pair of curtains) knocked back glass after glass of champers on stage before eventually teling Elton where he and his hair could go. Of course he gave as good as he got and no doubt the organisers are beside themselves at all the extra publicity.

But it wasn't just Lily and Elt's spat that made the ceremony a hot ticket. It also witnessed two groundbreaking moments in British fashion, namely Liz Hurley wearing a dress that wasn't slashed up to here and down to there and the showcasing of Jerry Hall's first new haircut since 1973.
