DITA Von Tease's high glamour 40s look is perfect for the red carpet and you can bet your bottle of gravy browning we'll see it at the MTV awards next Thursday.
The vampy long eyelashes, pale matte skin and pillar-box red lips is pure film noir femme fatale and it's a firm favourite with Kelly Brook, Lily Allen and Sienna Miller when they want to make an impact. Got wrong though, you risk straying into drag queen territory.
Vickie Gates, make-up artist on The Beauty Bar at Debenhams, and who styled our red carpet fashion shoot (see Style City Nov 6 issue) gives some essential do's and don'ts:
DO keep skin sheer and don't overdo it with the powder
DI make a statement with lips and lashes
DO use false eyelashes; DON'T use lashes to big for your natural lash bed
DON'T overdo it on the eye shadow, sweep it over hollow to create depth and keep it neutral
Do check your teeth for red lippy before leaving the house
