l JOHNNY DEPP. With a payday of around £32m for Pirates of the Caribbean 4 he could become Hollywood's highest paid actor.

l THE Echo Arena, Liverpool. Oasis rocked the place this week and the world's biggest bands are coming soon.

l MAIL Goggles. Google's new program, which subjects you to some mental arithmetic before letting you online, could put an end to drunken emailing.

l THE Bluecoat. With a gong at the this week's Liverpool Architectural Society Awards, the honours just keep on coming.

l BOTOX. Friends actress Courtney Cox Arquette has spoken out against face-freezing.

l DOOM-mongerers. We know things are bad you don't have to keep going on.

FOOTLOOSE being remade. The original is a classic leave it alone. Although the musical version at the Empire looks good!

l CHRISTMAS party planning. We don't want to talk about it.
