Sex and the City designer's collection in Liverpool on Thursday

AFTER months of waiting with bated breath, Sex and the City designer Patricia Field's collection is finally arriving in Marks & Spencer stores this week.

Liverpool will get the stock on Thursday and we have been told to expect polka dots, stars, stripes, animal print and traditional florals in silks, georgettes, metallics and stretch satins.

Highlights include a stunning floral print dress in Champagne and black with puff ball skirt, a sophisticated shift style dress in deep turquoise with wide flowing chiffon sleeves and a black stretch satin corseted halterneck dress.

The New York designer earned an Academy Award nomination in 2006 for The Devil Wears Prada but her most influential work remains her costume design for the cult TV series and movie, Sex and the City, which made her a global trendsetter in fashion styling.
