Fabulous fashion and frocky horrors 2008

FROM wet-look leggings to vertiginous heels, puffball dresses to high-waisted pants and the ubiquitous leather bomber jacket - it has been an eclectic year for fashion.
We said goodbye to a fashion legend with the passing of Yves Saint Laurent and hello to Victoria Beckham serious fashion designer (the jury's still out on that one).
We welcomed eight inch heels, spikes and bags that you could keep the entire contents of your house in.

It bags were replaced by It shoes and ruffles devoured Merseyside.
On the celebrity front Gwyneth Paltrow went from earth mother to MILF in a miniskirt, Carla Bruni did politics in Dior, Helen Mirren showed she could still rock a bikini at 63 while Madonna decided granny knickers were appropriate wear for the gym.
Posh got herself a new haircut - and a million column inches - while her BFF Katie Holmes got a pasting almost daily for her fashion sense or lack of it.

From the orange and blue ensemble she wore at the Met, to the baggy jeans to her mumsy haircut it was less Dawson's Chic and more No Direction Holmes.
So as we look forward to a whole new year of fashion madness, starting tomorrow we Girls Behaving Stylishly will be bringing you our favourite fabulous fashion moments and our frocky horrors of 2008.
Let us know whether you agree...
