AB: Ms Streep is Hollywood royalty and can do no wrong. Gorgeous colour against her skin tone

Heidi looks fabulous. Far too much classic but boringly safe Hollywood on show this year, everyone looks like an extra from Gone With The Wind. Not nearly enough Bjork/Cher/Celine-style frocktastic fun. Heidi carries off daring fuscia radiantly.

AB: Kate's YSL dress in a beautiful colour but would prefer it without the one-shouldered sash. Hair looks a bit too old for her though
EP: I like her hair, reminiscent of the Catherine Deneuve photoshoot she did. But I didn't care for the dress over much, each seems very much along the same cantilevered asymmetric lines. She looks very pretty though.

AB: Oh Pen, where did it go wrong? She should've stuck to her usual palette of black and bold colours for her big night. White makes her look very washed out.
EP: More Miss Haversham fashions from Ms Cruz, which we should just leave to Nicole Kidman, as ghost bride is a look she is channeling on every red carpet event these days. Prefer her in something more exotic and Spanish; with her colouring she can take her pick of colours. oscarstilda.jpg
AB: Tilda never plays with the rules but looks better in this Lanvin dress than she did last year. Nice to see her with a bit of make up on too.
EP: She has such a sense of her own style it's difficult to criticise. It's not my cup of tea but nice to see a splash of individuality.
