Look forward to fabulous winter fashion
BY GUEST BLOGGER KAREN PODESTA OF GEEK CHIC
Hello readers Behaving Stylishly, and thanks Girls for inviting me to your blog! I'm Club Geek Chic's new Events Director and what a fabulous time I'm having already! As you'll find out in later blogs, Gemma and I have lots of exciting events planned for you all...including our fabulous TeaDance at the Liverpool Racquet Club this Saturday.
So here we are again in the midst of yet another British 'summer'. Lazing in the park one minute, running for shelter the next. What fun.
I am of course, eternally grateful for every drop of sunshine we get in these unpredictable months, but short of dashing to another continent, August for me means only one thing...September issue magazines hitting the shelves with the Autumn/Winter round-ups! Welcome to my favourite fashion season!
The coming months may be drab and miserable, but at least this consistency allows us to wave goodbye to the wardrobe confusion we've been suffering of late (gladiators or hunters? hmm...) and glossy pages full of A/W treats serve as a wonderful antidote to the impending onslaught of bitter winds and heavy rain
The 09/10 collections couldn't fail to excite even the most ardent beach lover. With Gucci's sequins, Balmain's biker jacket, Prada's land-girl glamour (oh to be let loose in the country wearing waders and chunky knits!) and Stella's silk blouses, it's difficult to choose favourites but I've picked out three looks that I'll be adding to my wish-list and channelling as the days get colder...

Miu Miu
Is it a coat? Is is a dress? It doesn't matter...this collarless beauty comes in rose pink and muted khaki and I want them both!
Alberta Ferretti
Her collection full of bright jeweled tones suggests that winter will be far from dull with cleverly placed injections of emerald, plum and gold.

Lanvin
The stunning forties silhouettes at Lanvin are Hitchcock-heroine glamour at their best.
But of course, as all the chicest fashion geeks know, a sprinkling of catwalk inspiration is best served with a slice of vintage, a sliver of high street and a generous spoonful of personal style. Who wants to look like they've stepped straight from a catwalk when giving it your own twist adds drama, flair and total gorgeousness... just like my current style icons (and our Geek Chic Tea Dance band) The Maladies of Bellafontaine.
Not only do their songs make you feel as content and at ease as your favourite outfit (Peculia Petunia the vintage dress hanging in your wardrobe, Spanish Lorry the shiny new bag you want to take everywhere) their look is as fun, memorable and dreamy as their music. The floral tea dresses...the tweed...the velvet...the flying goggles...I'm off on a Maladies inspired shopping spree!
