Beckham wants to be Wolverine
Never before has such facial hair been discussed by so many but then anything to do with David Beckham seems to garner several million column inches.
The facial fungus (as the Guardian called it) first appeared while Becks was on England duty a few weeks ago and he is now revealed he grew it for Halloween.
He says: "Halloween's coming up and I was thinking of Wolverine from X-Men."
Although the facial hair has been debated up and down the country, it has won the support of the Beard Liberation Front (yes, that's a real organisation).
Organiser Keith Flett says: "He's got a retro beard. It's the kind of stuff that footballers like George Best had in the 70s. It's an interesting choice because he could have gone for the designer style beard that is trendy and fashionable."
