Liverpool ladies love to go on the lash
Sounds like us girls here in Liverpool just love to get lashed.
We're not talking about the old booze though. We are talking about false lashes.
Over the last year, Debenhams has seen sales of false eyelashes increase by over 1000%.
Now Liverpool girls are taking things a step further and wearing three pairs at a time!
Sarah Meadows, Cosmetics Buyer at Debenhams, says, "We have had to send emergency stock of our false lash ranges to certain stores around the country, including Liverpool, to cope with the Friday and Saturday night demand.
"It was only when sales staff reported women were wearing the glue-on strip eyelashes three pairs at a time we discovered the trend."
She cites Jordan and The Saturdays with their glamorous, cheek-sweeping lashes as responsible for the rise of falsies.
"Our customers are demanding longer and thicker styles so feather effect, diamante tipped and babydoll styles are all coming soon," says Sarah.
