Selfridges' Oxfam pop-up shop is a resounding success
WITH outfits donated by the likes of Beyonce, Elle Macpherson and Carey Mulligan - who donated this Vionnet gown she wore to the BAFTAs - the Selfridges' Oxfam pop-up shop was destined to be a success.
But the week-long store managed to raise an astounding ã48,000 - more than the average Oxfam store makes in a year!
The Oxfam Curiosity Shop ran for one week in May at the Oxford Street department store. It was staffed by celebrities and high-profile retailers including pop star Annie Lennox and Whistles chief executive Jane Shepherdson.
The shop was accompanied by an online sale of celebrity items, which raised a further ã14,000 and a private auction, which drew in ã140,000 worth of bids. In total, the week of events raised more than ã200,000 for Oxfam's women's projects around the world.

I find that readers respond very well to posts that present your personal weaknesses, failings and the gaps in your individual information relatively than those posts the place you come across as figuring out every thing there is to know on a topic. People are attracted to humility and are extra possible to answer it than a post written in a tone of somebody who would possibly harshly reply to their comments.
