FOR those of you who caught Life in the Theatre's production of Jason Robert Brown's The Last 5 Years at Liverpool's Actor's Studio earlier this summer - and those of you heard all the buzz and wish they had been quick enough to get tickets - the company has announced its Christmas production.

New musical Mam! I'm Ere will star an all Liverpool cast of Eithne Browne, Helen Carter, Paul Duckworth, Stephen Fletcher, Rachel Rae, Andrew Schofield, Alan Stocks and Keddy Sutton and will take place at the Dome on Renshaw Street from December 7 to January 12.

Here's a description of the show:

Sally (Rachel Rae) was abandoned as a tiny baby on her Dad's doorstep.
23 years on, she is getting married to her childhood sweetheart, Si (Stephen Fletcher), in
the 'picturesque' setting of her Dad's failing Caravan site, and longs to have her Mum alongside her for her special day.

After digging into her Dad's little black book, and teasing out stories from Dave's best mates (Alan Stocks and Paul Duckworth), she has narrowed her search down to three very different women from his past (Eithne Browne, Helen Carter and Keddy Sutton).

Believing they've won a mystery, all-expenses paid, glamorous mini-break away, the three 'Mums' find themselves walking onto a creaky caravan site, greeted by an old flame some of them would rather forget, and right into Sally's trap.

Yes, if you hadn't already guessed from the title it's a Scouse version of Mamma Mia.

Stephen Fletcher, founder of Life in Theatre Productions, says: "This year we're doing it ourselves. About five weeks ago I rang around and no one had received a call for
any potential work over Christmas. I asked if people thought we could do something as a team, and everyone jumped at the chance. We need to work.

"The hard work starts now. We're writing the show at the moment - collaboratively - and so far the ideas and songs we're throwing around make for a really exciting show. It will have the energy and the vibrancy of recent shows many of our audiences will be familiar with, but as with everything we do, we aim to make this our best production yet - classy, funny, beautiful and happy - just how Christmas should be."
