Exclusive screening of rare film footage

THIS scene of passengers disembarking the Mersey Ferry is taken from a series of old films of Liverpool that are being shown at the Woolton Picture House on Thursday September 25.

The footage features life in and around the city from the earliest days of film-making in 1897 to the swinging 60s and includes the Lumiere Brothers' views of Liverpool and the river in 1897 and the results of an earl;y colour Pathe newsreel of local sights.

The Liverpool on Film 2 show has been has been organised by the North West Film Archive at the University of Manchester.
