buchan1.jpgCHARLES BUCHAN'S Football Monthly magazine brought the excitement of the beautiful game into the homes of little boys even if they didn't own a television or couldn't afford tickets to the match.

A new compilation of his articles and photos, featuring Liverpool FC between 1951 and 1973, would make a lovely Christmas present for those little boys now they have grown up.

The Grade II-listed building on Windsor Street, built with money donated by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, was opened in 1902 and attracts over 1,000 people a week. However, its facilities badly need updating and large parts of it have been mothballed for many years.

limest3.jpgIF YOU drive past Lime Street Station you can see the row of shops at the front being pulled down. It seems a good opportunity for looking back at some of the images of the station in our archive.

I don't know the dates of them all so if you can help me out I'd be very grateful. The image on the left was taken in 1966.

THIS video of two Liverpool school pupils on a visit to Givenchy les la Basse in northern France is a great example of how history can be brought to life when taken away from textbooks.

It was filmed by Jennifer Hawley of BBC Liverpool, as part of the Video Nation project, and the children featured are Ashley and Ste.
