First-time buyers turning to auctions
I have been pleasantly surprised by the increased levels of interest in our next property auction, particularly for small houses needing repair and refurbishment.
I still think that this is a great time for first-time buyers to get involved in buying property as prices remain low.
We've been seeing more young couples attending our auctions, clearly prepared to look at buying their first home and making it onto the property ladder ...
The summer holidays don't appear to have any major impact in terms of interest and we're looking forward to a good sale at our next auction at the Village Hotel in Brombrough.
The majority of buyers we see are experienced developers and investors although we have seen some new would-be investors who feel that property is a better medium and long term investment than pension as well as first time buyers.
There's been some hugely positive feedback about the Wirral Waters scheme now that planning permission has been obtained and we are all keen to see Peel Holdings on site creating a vision for the future.
You just have to look at the Liverpool skyline to see the difference iconic buildings can make.
Back in the Wirral, the high winds on Sunday caused havoc for my days golf. Having returned to reclaim my trolley and clubs alongside the 8th hole at Caldy Golf Club, I found that everything had been blow away and into the nearby lake.
I and my partners waded in to retrieve my soggy keys, wallet and blurred cheques, but nevertheless continued to finish the game only to receive good natured (I think) banter in the clubhouse afterwards.

An interesting read. I'm looking to buy my first property soon and have never thought about auctions.
Look forward to your next post!
